Despite the risky and uncertain future should this happen, I’m all for multi-party democracy. This isĀ true democracy. I believe in having diverse voices and opinions, and having BOTH conservative and liberal viewpoints taken into consideration. More opinions may create new viewpoints that could lead Singapore truly into becoming a First World country. We’re just a city, not yet a nation. Singapore really needs to mature and hear what the rest of the world is saying, and stop being so stubborn.
Anyway, this (multi-party democracy) is something what Singapore currently lacks and the constant excuse that we’re a “conservative” nation that’s why we cannot do this or that is really just, an excuse. If we’re “conservative”, then give liberal people like us the opportunity to find citizenship overseas easily and not fufil our national obligations if the laws only work to the advantage of the “conservative” citizens. It’s only fair.
